About Us
We are Milly’s Search, Trap and Reunite. Our founding members were brought together while assisting in the search for 2 dogs. Milly (a.k.a. Angelina) was a rescued Beagle who escaped her first time foster carer at Mt Elliott in 2019. For 3 weeks we assisted in the search ending tragically when Milly was found some 10km away on the M1. The other case many of you may know is Bu Bu. This rescue Jack Russell had us on the run for 5 months turning up on both sides of Wyong Rd and in Mingara Athletics track………….

Patonga Kittens – Unwanted and Dumped
Our year started NYE when we were contacted by a young lady just after 10pm to say she saw a young kitten on a bush track at Patonga.
With no thought we grabbed a trap and set out for a 50min round journey to help this little one.
With trap set we prayed.

and the pawrents who we helped to assist to help find their loved pet .
We are so lucky to have Milly’s Search and Trap Rescue Group in our community.
This very small, but well co-ordinated rescue group offer and involve themselves wherever possible, in so many varied animal rescue situations on the Central Coast and other areas of NSW.
Most rescues unfortunately, can be overwhelmingly sad and emotionally draining. To be a successful rescue group you need to put all emotions aside and get on with the job. This is exactly what Milly’s do. They do the very best they can in some hard and trying situations.
They show their compassion and support to devastated owners over and over again.
It is comforting and re-assuring to know there is somewhere to turn to for help and advice when you are desperate about an animal.
I am forever personally grateful to Milly’s.

“Our little lost Cindy
We had a beautiful little girl for 16 years who we named Mia, with great sadness, she passed away with dementia. She was the love of our life and we were so heart broken and we still miss her every day.
We agreed we would never get another furbie as the pain of loosing Mia was unbearable and we agreed we would not be able to go through that pain and sadness again.
It was 5 years later that in 2020, we both felt the need to have another little furbie to give a loving home too and we could not resist the feeling. So, we agreed we were ready and spent weeks searching to find another beautiful furbie that we could give our love to and provide a forever home, filled with love and affection.
Along came Cindy, a rehomed rescue dog, she did come with some baggage from her previous home but the moment we saw her, we knew, with a bit of work, love and attention, we could give her a loving home and a happy life she so deserved.
We adopted Cindy and had her for approx. 2 weeks and she was slowly settling in.

‘We are so lucky to have found Milly’s group through Facebook – we messaged Lyn and within 5 minutes their team were dedicated to helping us find our cat, Akuna, who had jumped our back fence with no way to get back.
The whole team were so diligent in helping to have him found. They donated their time, their cage, their camera and for that we are truly grateful.
I have no doubt that without them our baby would still be missing.
A team of kind, caring and compassionate people that do so much good and never ask for anything in return – we can never thank them enough.’

Scruffy came into foster care with us on Saturday night, he had a rough life before this and was used to living on the streets. The morning after we arrived home with him he escaped by jumping out 2 metre high fence and did NOT want to be caught. He was staying in the area but we had no way to catch him or get him to come home. After 12 hours of him avoiding being caught we were exhausted and distraught when we received a message from Milly’s Dog Trap and Rescue with tips on what to do with an escaped dog, especially one that is used to being homeless. (A lot of which we were doing the opposite to)
They then let me know that they would be able to set up a trap in the backyard early the next morning to try and catch Scruffy. The cage was set up at 7 am the next morning, less than 12 hours after first contact with Milly’s dog trap and rescue and we had Scruffy back by 7:30 a.m the next day.
Scruffy is an extremely street smart and cheeky boy and we honestly didn’t think he would step foot in the cage but with help and guidance on what food to leave and how to act around him if we seen him outside of the cage or wandering the streets, we were able to have our foster baby back only 24 hours after our first contact with Milly’s. We could not be thankful enough or recommend them enough.
