Lunar
Seeing a facebook post about a dog that had gone missing and is running scared and fast and isn’t from this area, concerned me. It is bad enough when a pet goes missing from home. Always a chance it could find its way home or at least knows the area a bit. Not only that, but being on holidays without your friends, family or neighbours to help you try to find your pet, would be even more daunting.

Lunar, 1 year old ran from Two Shores Holiday Park The Entrance, 2261, NSW, today Saturday 20th February at approx 3pm.
Last seen at 6pm running through Dunleith Caravan Park , North Entrance heading towards the beach.
If you see this beautiful dog, please contact us, she is scared and wary of other people. Do not chase her. Luna is on holidays with her owners.
Facebook post by Lyn:-
What time did she go missing?
And what areas do you normally walk her from Two Shores? Guessing she lives at Two Shores.
By instinct she more than likely headed that way.
North Entrance, yes?
Are you the owner? Just saw others posting this too.
Lunar’s Owner answered:-
Lunar is on her first time holiday in this area. She’s 1 year old, not used to being around other people.
She is tagged!!!
Floyd Posts:– no sightings since the last ones last night. She was seen bolting through the carpark behind Dunleith Caravan park. Heading towards the beach and bushland. North Entrance residents. Please check your yards, under your house, sheds, cars, boats.
Mary says to me – A number of people saw her and distinctly identified that she was wearing a harness. We have scouted the area for hours.I commented and said, Mary Hopefully she will calm down and settle somewhere for the night.
Our community is wonderful at coming together to find lost dogs.
I know it must be very stressful for you. Dogs are amazingly resilient.
Mary said – Lyn thank you. We were supposed to be heading home back to Sydney tomorrow. But we’ll stay put at Two Shore for another couple of days. Fingers crossed.
I asked Mary – did people report which way she was heading when they last saw her?
Mary said towards the beach.
Thank you Mary I will now repost on every site I can think of.
At this point I private messaged the owner to help advise and make suggestions as well as posted on every site I could think of. I asked if Lunar liked squeaky toys and suggested they take that. I studied maps and sent off suggestions of where to look and what to do. I had a little insight from when Tessa went missing and she was on holidays in Wamberal.
I reassured the owners that our community is great and that dogs are very resilient. They were distraught as they were supposed to head back home the next day. They already thought, since they couldn’t find her, that they might never find her.
I stayed up messaging with them until quite late and they said they would head out again first thing next morning.
Update Sunday Morning 21st February – . Still missing. Possibly hiding in bush or under a house nearby.
I advised Lunar’s owners to search here and call out and wait, call out and wait and use the squeaky toy.
I also advised that they should get posters done asap and how to do it, what to put on them and where to place them.
Then I got a phone recording and this message and photo at 12.48pm On Sunday 21st February, 2021. Such a joyous message and such a relief.
Message on facebook :- Found Lunar!! I can’t thank this group, the kind community of The Entrance and the kind neighbours in and around Two Shores Caravan Park. Who got in the cars and helped us search. Thank you is NOT enough.
Coming soon – Lunar’s owner’s tell their story in their own words, about when Lunar went missing and what they went through and how they got her back.
