Our First Trap – SEPTEMBER 14, 2020
This is a new trap and a first for Australia. It is designed for lost dogs in Survival mode that cannot be brought in to safety through conventional means.

It will enable rescue groups and the general public to capture shy, timid dogs in a more timely fashion as every minute they are out their lives are at risk.
It is suitable for large and small dogs, unlike traditional box traps which are either small or very large. It can be configured in different shapes and sizes to suit the dog and environment.
It is a trap that is much needed on the NSW Central Coast and surrounding areas for dogs that will not enter a conventional box trap type.
The trap uses a commercially available dog run and is triggered by an infrared sensor that instantly closes the gate.
We had a fundraiser and Initially the fundraiser was set for $1,500 . However some businesses generously donated goods or gift cards.

Jo and Mark researched and sourced how to make the trap, what gear was needed and compared prices and what would work best. They also researched how to connect all the components. (as another admin, I wanted to highlight Jo and Mark’s amazing efforts, as they would never pat themselves on the back).
